We only ask for what we need to get your coffee to you, nothing more. Here's exactly what we collect, why, and how you're in control of it.
1. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy explains how SUGAR LEAF COFFEE ROASTERIE LLC ("Sugar Leaf," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and shares information when you visit WWW.SUGARLEAFCOFFEE.COM (the "Site") or place an order with us. It applies to information collected through the Site and doesn't cover information collected offline or through third-party sites we don't control.
2. Information We Collect
Information you give us directly
Contact & order information: name, shipping and billing address, email address, phone number, and order details when you place an order.
Newsletter signup: email address (and name, if provided) when you subscribe to our mailing list.
Communications: information you share when you contact us directly, for example by email or a contact form.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Squarespace Payments through third-party processors. We receive limited payment details (such as the last four digits of your card, card type, and billing zip code) but never store full card numbers. Your complete payment information is handled directly by these processors under their own privacy policies.
Information collected automatically
When you visit the Site, we and our service providers automatically collect certain usage information through cookies and similar technologies, including:
IP address, browser type, device information, and general location (such as city or region)
Pages viewed, links clicked, and time spent on the Site
Referring website and search terms that led you to the Site
3. Cookies & Tracking Technologies
The Site is built on Squarespace and uses cookies and similar technologies for functionality, performance, security, analytics, and - where enabled - advertising purposes. We currently use:
Website analytics (such as Squarespace Analytics/ Google Analytics) to understand how visitors use the Site.
Advertising and marketing pixels (such as the Meta/Instagram pixel) to measure and, where enabled, personalize ads on social platforms.

4. How We Use Your Information
Process and fulfill your orders, and communicate with you about them

Improve, secure, and understand how visitors use the Site

5. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information only with:
Service providers who help us operate the Site and fulfill orders, including Squarespace (our website and commerce platform), Squarespace Payments and its underlying processors (Stripe, PayPal), our email marketing provider, and shipping carriers.
Analytics and advertising partners (such as Google Analytics and/or Meta), which may receive certain usage data through pixels or tracking scripts, as described above. Under some state privacy laws - like California's - this kind of pixel-based sharing for advertising purposes can count as a "sale" or "share" of personal information, even though no money changes hands. Legal and safety reasons: to comply with the law, respond to legal process, or protect the rights, property, or safety of Sugar Leaf, our customers, or others.
A business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets - your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
6. Email Marketing
If you subscribe to our newsletter or opt in at checkout, we'll send you emails about new coffees, promotions, and Sugar Leaf news. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we honor opt-out requests within 10 business days, consistent with the federal CAN-SPAM Act. You can also unsubscribe any time by emailing STEVE@SUGARLEAFCOFFEE.COM. We'll still send transactional emails, like order confirmations, even if you unsubscribe from marketing, since these aren't promotional.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal information, including the right to:
Know what personal information we've collected about you
Request a copy of, correct, or delete that information
Opt out of the "sale" or "sharing" of your personal information (including for cross-context behavioral advertising, such as ad pixels)

8. Data Retention
We keep your information for as long as needed to fulfill the purposes described in this policy. Order and tax records are generally kept for as long as needed to comply with accounting and tax laws, unless a longer period is required or permitted by law.
9. Data Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your information, including relying on Squarespace's and our payment processors' security measures. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, though, and we can't guarantee absolute security.
10. Children's Privacy
The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when posted with a revised "Effective Date." We encourage you to check back periodically.
