The terms that apply when you shop with us online.

We roast coffee, ship it fresh, and try to keep the fine print simple. Here's the legal version of that promise.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the website located at www.sugarleafcoffee.com (the "Site"), operated by Sugar Leaf Coffee Roasterie LLC ("Sugar Leaf," "we," "us," or "our"), or by placing an order through the Site, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Site or place an order.

2. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Changes take effect when posted to this page with a revised "Effective Date." Your continued use of the Site after changes are posted means you accept the updated Terms. We encourage you to check back periodically.

3. Who Can Use the Site

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, and able to form a legally binding contract to place an order on the Site. By placing an order, you confirm that you meet these requirements.

4. Products, Pricing & Availability

  • Coffee products are roasted in small batches and offered subject to availability; we may limit quantities, discontinue a product, or update our lineup at any time without notice.

  • We make reasonable efforts to display accurate product descriptions, weights, and images, but we do not guarantee that all Site content is complete or error-free.

  • Prices are listed in U.S. dollars and are subject to change without notice. Applicable sales tax and shipping charges are added at checkout.

  • If a product is listed at an incorrect price due to a typographical, pricing, or technical error, we reserve the right to cancel any order placed for that product — whether or not the order was confirmed — and to refund any amount charged.

5. Orders & Payment

  • Placing an order through the Site is an offer to purchase. We reserve the right to accept or decline any order for any reason, including suspected fraud, pricing or listing errors, or an inability to verify payment.

  • Payments are processed through Squarespace Payments and its underlying payment processors. We do not store your full card details — payment information is handled by these processors under their own terms and privacy policies.

  • You represent that any payment information you provide is accurate and that you're authorized to use the payment method submitted.

6. Shipping

  • We currently ship within the United States only.

  • Estimated shipping and delivery times shown on the Site are estimates, not guarantees.

  • Under the FTC's Mail, Internet, or Telephone Order Merchandise Rule, if we can't ship your order within the time stated at checkout (or within 30 days if no time is stated), we'll notify you and either get your consent to the delay or cancel the order and issue a full refund.

  • Risk of loss and title for products pass to you once we hand the order to the shipping carrier.

7. Returns & Refunds

Our returns and refunds practices are set out in our Return and Refund Policy which is incorporated into these Terms by reference.

8. Intellectual Property

  • The Site and its content — including text, graphics, logos, product photography, and the "Sugar Leaf," "Sugar Leaf Coffee Roasterie," and "How Do You Sugar Leaf?" names and marks — are owned by or licensed to us and protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

  • You may not copy, reproduce, republish, or create derivative works from Site content without our prior written permission, beyond your own personal, non-commercial use (such as sharing a product link).

9. User-Generated Content & Social Media

  • If you tag us, mention us, or share content about Sugar Leaf on social media — for example, in response to our "How Do You Sugar Leaf?" prompt — you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to display, repost, and use that content (including your username) on our Site and social channels to promote Sugar Leaf, unless you tell us otherwise.

  • You're solely responsible for content you submit or post, and you confirm you have the right to share it.

10. Prohibited Conduct

You agree not to: use the Site for any unlawful purpose; attempt to gain unauthorized access to the Site or its systems; interfere with the Site's operation or security; scrape or harvest data from the Site without permission; or impersonate any person or entity.

11. Third-Party Links

The Site may link to third-party websites, including social media platforms, that we don't control. We aren't responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site.

12. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Site and its content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement, to the fullest extent permitted by law.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sugar Leaf and its owners, employees, and affiliates won't be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Site or purchase of our products. Our total liability for any claim arising out of these Terms or your order won't exceed the amount you paid for the product(s) giving rise to the claim.

14. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold Sugar Leaf harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your violation of these Terms or misuse of the Site.

15. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wisconsin, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Site will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.

16. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the remaining provisions will stay in full force and effect.
